Overview:

This page is a grouping of Transmuting and Adorning for the reason that both are directly related to each other.  Transmuting is the process of breaking down specific items into components for which can then be used to craft white adornments.  Both are classified as skills which means they will require you to start at level one with low tier items and recipes and work your way up to a capped level which is currently set at 475 for both skills.  Although, the soft cap is set at the higher of your adventuring or crafting level; so a level 62 adventure and 57 crafter with then have a soft cap at 62*5 which is 310.  It is best to level up these skills as you progress in your adventuring and/or crafting levels.

Transmuting:

There are four component types that you can possiblity receive When you transmute an item ranging from a low quality to highest quality.  The quality of the item being transmuted (Treasured, Legendary, Mastercrafted, etc.) will govern the quality level of the components you receive.  The four components are:

    •   Fragments - low-grade common component used in all adornment recipes.
    •   Powders - mid-grade component used as primary in Treasured adornment recipes.
    •   Infusions - upper-grade component used as primary in Legendary adornment recipes.
    •   Manas - high-grade component used as primary in Fabled adornment recipes.

Okay, so what can be transmuted?  The following table gives you a rough rule of what can be transmuted and in this game rules are always broken or twisted in some way.  The only true rule here is to try and transmute the item and if you can then all the better; but be careful not to transmute something you really want to keep!

What Can You Transmute?EditIn order for an item to be transmutable, it must meet the following conditions: ¦Be of Treasured, Mastercrafted, Legendary, or Fabled quality. ¦This excludes all Handcrafted items as well as equipment of uncommon or common quality. ¦Although marked as Treasured, Journeyman spells can not be transmuted (because they are of the same actual rarity as Handcrafted items). ¦Not be marked as NO-VALUE or ORNATE ¦Not be a stackable or consumable item (i.e., not be food, ammunition, etc.) ¦Have a level indicated on the item. This excludes items such as furniture. The general rule of thumb is that it has to be a non-ORNATE item that can either be equipped or scribed that you could sell to a vendor. Typically transmuted items include: ¦Adept spells ¦Treasured equipment (typically of low desirability) ¦Expert spells (typical in the lower tiers) ¦Legendary equipment (of low desirability)
